The Untold Story Of Wedding Rings
"Two souls with but a single thought, Two hearts that beat as one." This lovely quote by Friedrich Halm sings of the mystic nature of love and marriages. Marriages unite two souls in a bond that lasts forever and ever. When the man and the wife exchange rings and kisses, they promise each other a life time of love and affection. Marriages are a special occasion and hence the wedding rings should also be special. Today, many couples choose wedding rings that have a special meaning for them. These wedding rings are a symbol of the bond of marriage that unites two souls.

Over the past century, wedding rings were cast mostly in gold. Wedding bands were very popular and the auriferous wedding bands were made from 18k karat gold. With the rising price of gold, people are searching for valuable but lesser expensive alternatives. Titanium, cobalt and tungsten are a few metals that are chosen today for their unique features like scratch and tarnish resistance. They also make a unique wedding ring. People who are not concerned with the rising price of gold might also opt for platinum. Platinum comes in purer form in wedding rings than gold, which is typically alloyed with copper and/or silver.

These days, gold rings too come in various designs. Two toned gold rings are gaining popularity as people adore the combination of white and yellow gold. Gold alloyed with copper gives us the beautiful rose coloured gold rings. People engrave names and phrases on the traditional wedding bands to convey special thoughts and to add aesthetic value. Rings studded with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires are also available as slightly more expensive but graceful choices. People are searching for unique designs for wedding rings since the wedding ring is as memorable as the wedding itself.
